    Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a warning before an earthquake strikes? Weather forecasters predict storms, temperatures, winds and tides. Many of us plan our weekends and holidays with a careful glance toward their predictions. Sometimes, with all due respect to the latest meteorologistic data, we find it raining on our parade! Nonetheless, it does help in determining whether we pack an umbrella or wear cool, summer attire.

     So too, with earthquake predictions. Though much less frequent in nature, the wrath of a major earthquake can be devastating. Being aware can minimize the damage. Forewarned, one can take quicker instinctive action. And should the event not take place in your location, the worst you could do is thank your lucky stars!

     Not unlike the weather, there is no guarantee that a prediction will actually happen. However, if you take a moment to review the list of Calico's predictions you will notice that the consistency between dates and actual occurrences is well beyond the boundaries of chance! Although, it is an impressive record of actual earthquake predictions, you will notice that the locations are not included. The reason for this is that, although a large number of premonitions have a definite source, a small percentage does not. And even if the source if definite, the exact location remains illusive. On rare occasions, usually in California due to the fact that it is my home, the location can be narrowed down to within approximately 50 miles. Globally, the radius is much larger. It is for this reason that no location will be given on the Bulletins that you receive.

Your EARTHQUAKE PREMONITION BULLETINS will contain the following:

• The date and time, (Pacific Standard Time), of the premonition.
• The estimated magnitude, (Richter), of the premonition.
• The estimated date of the pending earthquake. (Usually within 2 to 14 days)

Earthquake Bulletins will be sent to the e-mail address of your choice following each Earthquake Premonition with a magnitude of 5.0 or greater.
